Len Saltiel spent his career in the financial services industry in various management positions. Upon leaving the corporate world, he became an enthusiast photographer. Len began his interest in photography in the early eighties after acquiring a GAF film camera. He later transitioned to Minolta film cameras. Len took a hiatus from photography for about 15 years dedicating his time to family and career. Len re-embraced photography when Nikon introduced the D100. It was his first endeavor into digital photography. After spending a few years learning the digital format, he now shoots with the D700 (back to full frame!) and the D300s.
Since leaving the corporate world in 2007, Len has spent considerable time improving his photographic skills.
Len’s photographic subjects are primarily landscapes and cityscapes. He has many photographs that will be posted to his website from his travels to California, Colorado, Utah and Europe.
Len has been fascinated with the father of modern photography, Ansel Adams. Len’s favorite Adams’ quotes are:
“There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.”
“Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer and often the supreme disappointment.”
To the complaint that there are no people in his photographs, Ansel responded, “There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.”
