The Old Book

Just a quick post and run today. This image is from an antique store somewhere in New Hampshire. The store owner was nice enough to allow us in to photograph whatever we wanted. While there were so many possible subjects, I was attracted to this old book. I could just imagine seeing this scene a long time ago with the old-time typewriter in the background and the old pewter cup in the foreground.

Have a great weekend everyone.

  12. Lovely textures on the leaves of the book, echoed by the grain in the desk’s wood. Short DOF really helps, the image is sharp almost dead centre. Clever work

my first thought was…how long it must have taken to write a manuscript of that length on an old typewriter such as the one pictured…

  18. Very nice image. There is so many elements in the frame, yet with the contrast of colors and light make the book the focus.
